Harmondsworth

Harmondsworth is a place in the London Borough of Hillingdon nearby to London Heathrow Airport.
Harmondsworth is also the name of a UKDS run detention centre/refugee camp there for deportations from the airport and one nextdoor to that called Colnbrook.
If BAA plc are granted permission to build a third runway at Heathrow, much of Harmondsworth will have to be demolished.
British Airways are based here.
For many years the publisher, Penguin Books, was based here.
Its name came from Anglo-Saxon Heremōdes worþ = "Heremōd's enclosure".
