Harold Demsetz

Harold Demsetz (born 1930) is a professor emeritus of economics at UCLA. He applied Chicago school ideas of law and economics in much of his work.

He developed an economic method called Emissions trading to decrease pollution by providing economic incentives for achieving reductions in the emissions of pollutants.

He also formulated Nirvana-Vorwurf in contrast with the Perfect competition model.
