Hawksbeard

Hawksbeard is a genus of about 200 annual and perennial flowering plants found in the family Asterales resembling Dandelion, the main differences being that Hawksbeards have multiple flowers per plant as well as branching stems. The name Crepis derives from Greek, meaning 'shoe'.

Species of Hawksbeard can be found all through the northern hemisphere and tropical Africa.

Hawksbeards are used as food plants by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species including Broad-barred White.
