"Heaven And Hell" is one of the songs written by John Entwistle for the Who. It was played live during the band's Tommy tours, always as the opening track. This was one of the most complex tracks the Who peformed, with Entwistle's bass and Keith Moon's drumming at outstanding speeds. "Heaven and Hell" contains two long solos by guitarist Pete Townshend.

Live versions can be found on both Live at Leeds and Live at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970.

A studio version (which the band disliked) was released as the b-side of "Summertime Blues" in 1970. The version was also on the compliation Thirty Years of Maximum R&B. The band disliked the song in studio, as they could never capture their onstage energy and overall peformance.
