Hebei University of Technology (河北工业大学) ( for short: HEBUT ) is a university in Hebei, China under the provincial government.
HEBUT is located in the city of Tianjin on the seaside of the Bohai Sea. Ratified by the government of Hebei Province, in 1992, HEBUT established its branch school in Langfang city, which is 60 km away.
The present university grew out of the original institution, Beiyang Technological School, established in 1903.
HEBUT has about 10,000 students full-time students including PhD candidates, graduate students and undergraduate students.
In its century-long history, especially through he construction under "Project 211", HEBUT has become a famous multi-discipline university in North China, with its focus on engineering and a rapid development of humanities and social sciences.
