Heinrich Knirr (September 2, 1862, Pancsova1944) was a German painter. He studied at the Vienna Academy and in Munich where he lived until 1914, before moving to a small town Stanberg. In 1888 Knirr established a private drawing and painting school in Munich. His style during the Nazi propaganda was based on heroic portraiture influenced by strong academic drawing and the Baroque sense of aristocratic grandeur. Knirr painted Hitler's official portrait for the 1937 opening of the annual German art exhibit in Munich (Große Deutsche Kunstausstellung).
