Helen Bruckner is a fictional US Senator and demon in the television series Angel and is portrayed by Stacey Travis.
Helen Bruckner is not a real human being, but a demon who was "installed" in a female body. Her ambition is to become President of the United States in 2008 thanks to the financial aid of hostile countries and the vast influence she possesses as a member of Circle of the Black Thorn. She also tends to surround herself with vampires, who work both as her bodyguards and campaign staff. She's also a client of Wolfram & Hart, at least since the days of Holland Manners.
Senator Bruckner visits Wolfram & Hart to obtain the firm's help to defeat her rival Mike Conley, also a candidate for the Senate. She plans to have Conley brainwashed into becoming a pedophile so Brucker can recuperate the 'chick vote'. As part of the act he stages to make the Black Thorn believe he has been corrupted by power, Angel (the new head of LA's Wolfram & Hart branch) agrees to aid Senator Brucker, as he's seeking to join the Circle of the Black Thorn, which required him to pretend having been corrupted by W&H's power. In order to mantain his cover, Angel has Conley brainwashed in the following days.
Brucker was present at Angel's initiation in the Circle of the Black Thorn, participating in the torture of Drogyn. Before revealing herself to Angel, she wore a bronze-colored Tre Facce mask.
When Angel and his crew agree to wipe out all members of the Black Thorn, Gunn is sent to deal with Brucker at her campaign headquarters. While Gunn fights her vampire minions, Bruckner has a phone interview regarding Conley's condition and her own campaign promises. However, Gunn kills her by throwing an axe at her head in the midst of her interview.
