Hell Awaits (1985) was the second full-length album by Slayer, released through Metal Blade Records. This album, along with its successor, Reign in Blood, is cited as an influence by many death metal bands, and many fans of heavy metal music regard this album as a proto-death metal album.
The album has seen various re-issues often including bonus tracks taken from the Haunting the Chapel EP.
