Hemingbrough

Hemingbrough is a small village located roughly 5 miles from Selby and 4 miles from Howden on the A63. The village has a 12th century church, methodist chapel, post office, village shop, petrol station, equine centre, bakers and chinese takeaway. The village also has a Primary School and nursery, as well as a playing field for the local children. The surrounding area makes up part of the vale of York and is flat land, mainly used for mixed agriculture.
In 1989 Caron Keating and Blue Peter visited the village to replace the cockerel on the top of the church spire since it had been damaged for some years.
