Henry Washburn

Henry Dana Washburn (1832–1871) was an American congressman and explorer. He headed the 1870 Washburn-Langford-Doane Expedition that first surveyed Yellowstone National Park and played an important role in creating the world's first national park. He was the cousin of Elihu B. Washburne, a member of a politically prominent family of that era.
