Her! [Girl vs Pig] is a violent webcomic first published online by Chris Bishop in 2001. The comic, which features a skull of death on the dot to the exclamation mark in its title, features two characters: a girl named "The Girl" and a pig named (not surprisingly), "The Pig." The Girl is blonde and always wears a pink dress. The Pig always wears sunglasses.

Chris Bishop also appears often as a character, wearing a backwards baseball cap.

Over the course of each four-panel or three-panel strip, The Girl and The Pig are involved in bouts where they usually end up inflicting violence of some sort on one another. Forms of violence include (but are not limited to):

machetes
knives
falling objects
crowbars
nuclear explosions
axes
poison
screw-drivers

and, most famously:

Sample dialogue from a comic is as follows:

GIRL (holding a purple mushroom): Do you think it's poisonous?

PIG: Probably not.

GIRL: *Chew Chew Chew*

GIRL (Dies)

PIG: I said probably.

The comic was originally created for a now-defunct magazine called "react" (circulation 4.5 million), in 1998, as a replacement for Convenience Store, a cartoon Bishop previously drew.

When the magazine went under, Bishop moved his cartoon online and published it semi-regularly until spring 2005, when the comic went into hiatus. In August 2005, Her! [Girl vs Pig] returned.

The Art

The art style of Her! [Girl vs Pig] is quite stylized. Characters often appear in repetitive poses from one panel to the next, and the background of the panel is generally a solid color (in old strips, this color was most often white, while newer strips have backgrounds of changing colors).
