He popularised the phrase "Zero to Hero".
Brief History on charcacter
Origin and Birth
He was born on Olympus contrary to the true Greek Myth of Hercules. He was given the winged-horse Pegasus as a birthday gift from his father Zeus and his mother Hera who in the Greek Mythology is but his spiteful big mother.Meanwhile his evil uncle Hades finds out that his plan to take over Olympus will be stopped by Hercules so he sends his two lackies Pain and Panic to Mount Olympus to kidnap Hercules and turn him mortal by making him drink a magic potion.
But he doesn't drink the last drop leaving him with some of his vast strength. He is then found by Alcmena (who in the myth is his mother) and Amphytrion (his stepfather in Greek myth who raised him) and they raise him.
Teen Years
During his teen years he destroys town. His foster/mortal parents tell him about how they found him. Then they show him his medallion with the symbol of the gods (but mostly Zeus' symbol) on it. He then sets off for the Temple of Zeus. His father tells him of his origin (see Origin and Birth). He also told him that if he wants to return to Olympus he must become a true hero.
He goes to see Philoctetes a trainer of heroes who originally says he will not train Hercules but then agrees to train Hercules after Zeus zaps him with a bolt of thunder.
Much like the Lion King as they sing Hakuna Matata as Simba grows up and Tarzan as they sing Life of Man as Tarzan grows up they sing as Hercules grows up.
Adult Years
He then sets off with Philoctetes to become Hero in Thebes. On his way he saves the beautiful Megara from Nessus. This was actually a plot by his evil uncle Hades (much like Scar and Simba) to get rid of rim.
After saving Pain and Panic who were disguised as to young boys and slaying the Hydra he becomes a hero.
He then gives up hhis life for Megara and so became a true hero. He then be comes a true hero but desides to live the life of a mortal all though he still is immortal.
