Herman Kristoffersen

Herman Kristoffersen is the mayor of Tromsø in Norway (2004).

Representing Arbeiderpartiet (the Labour Party) Kristoffersen was elected mayor 1999, and again in 2003. In 2003 however, he had to form a coalition with Sosialistisk Venstreparti (the Socialist Left Party) in order to take office.

Kristoffersen is popularly known as Røde Herman (Red Herman) reflecting his former involvement in Arbeidernes Kommunistparti (the Workers Communist Party).
