Hey Porter

One of Johnny Cash's earliest songs. Hey Porter, which was released in 1955 was among one of the most famous songs made by Johnny Cash. Since Johnny Cash was young, he had always been interested in railroads, and by writing Hey Porter he finally put one of his childhood memories in his songs. The song refers to the Mason-Dixon line.

The 2005 film, Walk the Line, which Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon played in, had Hey Porter in the background, however it was never put on the soundtrack. Many of the songs made famous by Johnny Cash we redone by Joaquin Phoenix, however they were over in a short period of time and never put on the soundtrack like Hey Porter.
