Higashiyatsushiro (東八代郡; -gun) is a district located in Yamanashi, Japan.
As of 2003, the district has an estimated population of 73,813 and a density of 331.49 persons per km². The total area is 222.67 km².
Towns and villages
Mergers
- On October 12, 2004, the municipalities Ichinomiya, Isawa, Misaka, Sakaigawa, and Yatsushiro merged with Kasugai from Higashiyamanashi District to form the city of Fuefuki.
- On February 20, 2006, the village of Toyotomi merged with the towns of Tamaho and Tatomi from Nakakoma District to form the new city of Chuo.
- On March 1, 2006, town of Nakamichi and the northern part of Kamikuishiki from Nishiyatsushiro District (Furuseki, Kakehashi) merged with the city of Kofu to form the new city of Kofu.
- On August 1, 2005, the village of Ashigawa is scheduled to merge with the city of Fuefuki, making the 6th and the last municipality from Higashiyatsushiro District to join the city of Fuefuki. Higashiyatsushiro District is scheduled to dissolve after this merger.
