Highfield Park, Nova Scotia

Encyclopedia : H : HI : HIG : Highfield Park, Nova Scotia

Highfield Park, named for its geographic location overlooking Halifax Harbour, is a densely populated area of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This area is encompassed by North End Dartmouth, and also separates North End from the Burnside Industrial Park. Highfield Park extends from Crystal Heights in the east, to Nova Scotia Highway 111 in the west, Victoria Road to the south and, once again to Nova Scotia Highway 111 to the north. The area, much like North End, Halifax, is synonymous with crime and drug use as a result of low-income housing. The people in this area often refer to themselves as 'North Enders' and have a strong sense of community. The MLA for Dartmouth North is Trevor Zinck.
