Encyclopedia : H : HI : HIP : Hiplife
Hiplife is a form of music in Ghana. It usually goes with raglife. The name is a combination of hip-hop and high-life.
Reginald “Reggie Rockstone” Osei has been described as the "Godfather of Hiplife". Reggie raps in the Twi dialect, but other rappers like Tinny use Ga or other languages.
Hiplife has been criticised for promoting immorality because of lyrics containing insults and indecencies.
