Encyclopedia : H : HI : HIS : Historische Sprachforschung
Historische Sprachforschung (HS) is a German journal of Indo-European historical linguistics, established by Adalbert Kuhn in 1852. It was formerly known as the Zeitschrift für vergleichende Sprachforschung (Journal of Comparative Linguistics) or Kuhn's Zeitschrift (KZ) and was renamed to its present title in 1988 (as of volume #101). It is the second oldest linguistics journal still in publication, and subsumes the former Beiträge zur vergleichenden Sprachforschung or Kuhn-Schleichlers Beiträge (KSB; 1852-74) and the Beiträge zur Kunde der indogermanischen Sprachen or Bezzenbergers Beiträge (BB; 1877-1906).
It is presently edited by Alfred Bammesberger (Catholic University of Eichstätt), published by Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht, Göttingen, and usually appears twice yearly.
