Honour Moderations
Encyclopedia : H : HO : HON : Honour Moderations
Honour Moderations (or Mods) are a first set of examinations at Oxford University, normally during the first half of the degree course for some courses (e.g., Greats). They have a class associated with them (hence the "honours") but this does not count towards the final degree. Prelims (preliminary examinations), but have no class associated with them and are used as an alternative on some courses. Both these contrast with Finals at the end of all Oxford degree courses.
