Horohoro
Encyclopedia : H : HO : HOR : Horohoro
Horohoro is a fictional character in the anime and manga series Shaman King. In the English anime, his real name is Horohoro but he prefers to be called Trey Racer. In the Japanese anime and the manga, his real name is Horokeu Usui (碓氷ホロケウ Usui Horokeu), and Horohoro is a nickname.
Horohoro is an Ainu from Hokkaido, a prefecture in Japan. In the English anime, he is described as from "the Northern Woods" instead of from Hokkaido. Horohoro's main goal in the Shaman Fight is to save the Koropokkur (Minutians in the English anime), a tiny spirit people. His guardian ghost is Kororo (Corey), a spirit who is smitten for Manta Oyamada (Mortimer "Morty").
His younger sister, Pirka (Pilika in the anime) trains him harshly, similar to how Anna trains her fiancè, Yoh Asakura. Horohoro's name sounds and is spelled (in Katakana) like "boroboro," which means "crap," which causes humorous problems when some characters mispronounce his name.
In the English anime, when Trey reveals his nickname, Morty sings the Speed Racer theme with Trey's nickname in place of Speed.
Horohoro's birthday is on November 27, 1985. His Japanese voice actor (seiyū) is Yuji Ueda.
