Horton Foote

Horton Foote (born March 14,1916 in Wharton, Texas), is an American author and playwright, most noted for his 1983 Oscar-winning screenplay Tender Mercies. He also won an Oscar for his adaptation of To Kill A Mockingbird in 1962. He wrote the screenplay and play The Trip to Bountiful and won the 1995 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for The Young Man From Atlanta.
