Houma-Bayou Cane-Thibodeaux is a metropolitan statistical area, composed of two Acadiana region parishes Lafourche and Terrebonne, located in southern Louisiana. As of 2004, the U.S. Census Bureau estimates the total population of the metropolitan area to be 198,680 making it the fifth most populous in the state.
