House Republican Leader

Encyclopedia : H : HO : HOU : House Republican Leader

The Republican Leader of the United States House of Representatives is the leader of Republican House members. The Leader works with the Speaker of the House and the Republican Whip to coordinate ideas and supporting votes for legislation. The offices of Majority and Minority Leader were created in 1899 by Speaker David B. Henderson, who saw a need for party leaders on the House floor separate from the Speaker himself.
