In many campaign settings for the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game, Hruggek is the chief deity worshipped by the bugbear race. Hruggek was created by James M. Ward for the Deities and Demigods Cyclopedia (1980).

Hruggek is the god of violence and combat. Other gods worshipped by the bugbears include Grankhul, the god of hunting, senses, and surprise, and Skiggaret the god of fear.

Hruggek lives in a great cave in the Outer Plane of Pandemonium called Hruggekolohk. He decorates his home with the severed heads of his conquered opponents.

Description

Hruggek appears as a huge, powerful bugbear, 12 feet tall. He has great fangs and clawed hands and feet, and wields a 10-foot long morningstar.

Clergy and temples

Hruggeks priests dress in black and wear skulls on their heads. He is worshipped on the full moon in bugbear cave halls. A sacrifice of blood is made to him every month.
