Hugh McGregor Ross

Hugh McGregor Ross (born August 31, 1917 in Nairobi, Kenya) is an early pioneer in the history of British computing. He worked for Ferranti from the mid-1960s, and was involved in the standardization of ISO 646 and ISO 6937. He was one of the principle architects of the Universal Character Set when it was first conceived.

Hugh is an expert in the Gospel of Thomas and has written several books about it. He is a Quaker, and has also written a book about George Fox.
