It is currently produced every day of the week except for Sunday and has a readership of around 170,000. A sister paper, the East Riding Mail, was introduced fairly recently to focus on stories from Hull's rural surroundings.
The newspaper has won the award for Yorkshire Daily Newspaper of the Year twice in 2003 and 2004. Recently, the paper was embroiled in a dispute with Adam Pearson, chairman of Hull City A.F.C., over news reports on a local radio station[link].
