Hurricane Arlene
Encyclopedia : H : HU : HUR : Hurricane Arlene
The name Arlene has been used for nine tropical cyclones in the Atlantic Ocean.
It was the most used Atlantic storm name until Frances drew level on August 25, 2004, but Arlene regained its ascendancy on June 9, 2005 when it was used for the first storm of the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season, and it will keep the mark for some time since Frances was retired after the 2004 season. The names used next most often are Florence and Cindy, with seven appearances each. Florence remains the most-used storm name overall, since it was used five times in the Eastern Pacific Ocean before the modern six-year lists were made.
