Hustle & Flow

Hustle & Flow is an Academy Award-winning film directed by Craig Brewer, and co-produced by John Singleton.
It is about a Memphis pimp and drug dealer named DJay (Terrence Howard), who with the help of his friends, attempts to become a rapper. Shug (played by Taraji P. Henson) is one of his prostitutes who was impregnated by an unknown customer. She takes care of his house and later sings on his record. Taryn Manning plays Nola, one of his prostitutes who helps market his album.
The cast includes Anthony Anderson as a producer torn between his home life and his creative desires, rapper Christopher "Ludacris" Bridges as Skinny Black, the Memphis-based rapper whose success inspires DJay, and legendary soul artist Isaac Hayes as Arnel, a bar owner who tries to give DJay a break.
