Hutchinson County is a county located in the U.S. state of South Dakota. As of 2000, the population is 8,075. Its county seat is Olivet6.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,109 km² (814 mi²). 2,105 km² (813 mi²) of it is land and 4 km² (2 mi²) of it (0.19%) is water.Townships

The average household size was 2.43 and the average family size was 3.03.
In the county, the population was spread out with 24.90% under the age of 18, 5.60% from 18 to 24, 22.10% from 25 to 44, 21.20% from 45 to 64, and 26.20% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 43 years. For every 100 females there were 94.90 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.70 males.
