Hyaline oxide is a synthetic compound which bonds to existing protein structures. Ken Alibek spoke on its possible use by terrorists for bioweapons production in a classified journal. Alexander Shulgin once warned of possible clandestine production of the psychoactive 4-methyl form of hyaline oxide while working for the DEA. [#endnote_shulgin]
