I'm Insane is a song recorded by American glam metal band Ratt. It is the ninth track of their album Out of the Cellar. The song was written by former Ratt guitarist Robbin Crosby. The song never made it to the charts, it did however receive mediocre radio play. Crosby died in 2002 of a heroin overdose. It is believed by many Ratt fans to this day for the song to feature Crosby's best guitar solo he ever recorded with the band.

Theme

The meaning of the song is quite obviously about a person who is deranged. And the lines:
''You lock me up in a padded room
''Chain me to the floor
Which is obviously about solitary confinement.

However others believe since it was written by Crosby, it may have been about his experiences with drugs, and therefore his fear of becoming insane due to his drug abuse.
