Iain Dale (born 15 July 1962) is an English Conservative politician and pundit, broadcaster and owner of Politicos.co.uk, the political Internet bookstore. He founded Politico's Publishing in 1998, and sold it in 2003.

Dale is the author or editor of fourteen political books. He appears regularly on radio and television commentating on politics. He presents Planet Politics on Oneword Radio and occasionally presents Sunday Service on BBC Radio 5 Live. He has written for The Guardian, The Independent and the New Statesman.

In May 2005, Dale stood in the general election as Conservative candidate for Norfolk North, losing to the Liberal Democrats' candidate. It had been a seat that the Conservatives had only narrowly lost in 2001 and thus one of their top targets in 2005, but Norman Lamb won the seat comfortably in 2005. Subsequently he acted as chief of staff to David Davis in the run-up to the Conservative Party leadership campaign.

Dale's blog, [www.iaindale.blogspot.com] was nominated by The Guardian for the Political Blog of the Year Award. He hosts a weekly Podcast on his blog with a personality from the world of Conservative politics or the media.

He was educated at Ashdon County Primary School, Saffron Walden County High School and got a 2(i) BA Honours degree in German, Linguistics, and Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the University of East Anglia in 1985. Prior to going to university he spent his gap year as a nursing assistant at the Werner Wicker Klink in West Germany. During his degree course he spent a year teaching English at the Gymnasium Besigheim.

He was research Assistant to Patrick Thompson MP (Con), 1985-87, Public Affairs Manager for the British Ports Federation 1987-89, Financial Journalist with Lloyd's List 1989-90, Deputy Managing Director of The Waterfront Partnership & Managing Director of The Waterfront Conference Company 1990-96.

In May 2006, Dale co-authored a book with blogger Guido Fawkes about instances of sleaze from the Labour Party since taking office in 1997.
