Ichigaya

Ichigaya (市谷) is a neighborhood in Tokyo, Japan. Shinjuku-ku has several places with Ichigaya as part of the name. Ichigaya Station (市ケ谷駅), which lies in Shinjuku and Chiyoda-ku (Gobanchō, Kudan Minami), provides transportation to the area.
The Imperial Japanese Army had its GHQ at Ichigaya Heights; following World War II, the building became the headquarters for the Ground Self-Defense Forces. It was there that author Mishima Yukio committed suicide in 1970.
