Iishi (飯石郡; -gun) is a district located in Shimane, Japan.
As of 2003, the district has an estimated population of 20,864 and a density of 38.00 persons per km². The total area is 549.00 km².

- On November 12004, the towns of Daito, Kamo and Kisuki from Ohara District and the towns and villages of Kakeya, Mitoya and Yoshida from Iishi District merged to form the new city of Unnan.
- On January 12005, the towns of Akagi and Tonbara from Iishi District merged to form the new town of Iinan.
