IN WAITING is a rock band formed in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada, in 1999. More information can be found at their [Sonic Bids] website, with photos and sound clips. The band underwent several lineup changes before settling on it's current members, though the group's "core" have been writing and performing together since 2000. While main influences are largely pulled from classic rock, the band often incorporates a heavier feel with a very melodic approach, and sometimes includes Celtic elements as well as a more modern pop and contemporary feel. A self-produced album composed of a dozen original songs titled Please Stand By was recorded and released by the band in early-mid 2004. Since January of 2005, In Waiting has consisted of Rob MacDonald (lead vocals, percussion), Shane Sparling (rhythm guitars, keyboards, backing vocals), Adam Langley (lead guitars, baking vocals), Jason MacNeil (bass, backing vocals), and Blaine Tait (Drums, percussion). The group's first performace together was a highly anticipated and successful appearance at the 2005 East Coast Music Awards in the band's hometown of Sydney, Nova Scotia in February 2005. The band has since played numerous clubs throughout the Cape Breton area, building a reputation for an aggressive high energy stage show, with second-to-none musicanship built on guitar driven hooks, powerful soaring vocals, and a thick sonic foundation. Notable performances include opening for Canadian rock legends [Trooper]in October 2005.
