Inject the Venom
Encyclopedia : I : IN : INJ : Inject the Venom
Inject the Venom is a song the by Australian Rock Band, AC/DC. It's track 4 on the album For Those About to Rock We Salute You, released in 1981.
By looking at the song's title, you can assume what it's about. The song describes a the feelings of a man (possibly an executioner) that has "No Mercy for the Bad". The lead singer, Brian Johnson, shouts several times in the song's refrain to "Inject the Venom", which referres to the death penalty, death by Lethal injection.
Some common misunderstandings of song are in the refrain, which sounds like, "No Mercy for the Bad if they Please", when in reality it's "No Mercy for the Bad if they Plead." A mostly insignificant error, much overshadowed by the other misconception. At the end of the refrain, Johnson swiftly sings V.E.N.O.M., sounding similar to Bon Scott's singing of the famous phone number (36-24-36-0) in Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. The outcome sounds more like "They, ain't, gettin' it..".
