The Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation (IHBI) is a collaborative research centre based at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia. While the bulk of the institute is located at a purpose built facility on the Kelvin Grove campus of QUT, a number of projects are conducted at sites across the three main QUT campuses (Gardens Point, Kelvin Grove and Carseldine). The main facility was completed in June 2006 and forms part of the Kelvin Grove Urban Village. Initial funding for capital works and equipment procurement was recieved from the Queensland Government, QUT and the private charitable organisation 'Atlantic Philanthropies'.[link]
IHBI's research is divided into six major areas - known as 'domains':
- Cells and Tissue
- Human Health and Wellbeing
- Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation
- Medical Device
- Tropical Crops and Biocommodities
- Vision Improvement
