Integrated Science and Technology (ISAT) is an academic program at James Madison University which combines studies of the natural sciences, mathematics, technology, the social sciences, and business into a single program. Heavy emphasis is placed on the use of computers as a problem solving tool, as well as a collaborative approach to problem solving. Graduates of the undergraduate program receive a Bachelor of Science degree. Graduates of the master's program receive a Master of Science or Master of Business Administration degree, depending on the course of study.

Undergraduate program

The first two years are meant to introduce the program's students to science, technology and math. The student picks three concentrations to specialize in before their third year. Students choose a single concentration to specialize in during their senior year.

Concentrations available to ISAT students

Currently a major at La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA is based off of the ISAT program. The program at La Salle is called ISBT(Integrated Science, Business and Technology). The program at La Salle offers the same unique aspects of curriculum as the ISAT program but also adds in aspects of Business that is crucial to the biotechnology and technology sectors.
