Interior Salish

Interior Salish is a Salishan language, but can also refer to First Nations/Native American cultures who speak the language. The language can be divided into Northern and Southern Interior Salish groups, each with its own dialects.
Peoples speaking an Interior Salish language
Northern
- Secwepemc a.k.a. Shushwap, Secwepemctsín, səxwəpməxcín (ʃəxwəpməxtʃín)
- St'at'imc a.k.a. Lillooet, Stl'atl'imx, Stl'atl'imc, Sƛ’aƛ’imxǝc (St'at'imcets)
- Nlaka'pamux a.k.a. Thompson River Salish, Ntlakapmuk, nɬeʔkepmxcín, Thompson River, Thompson Salish, Thompson, known in frontier times as the Klackarpun, Couteau or Knife Indians (nɬeʔkepmxcín)
Southern
- Coeur D'Alene Tribe a.k.a. Schitsu'umsh or or Skitswish (Coeur d'Alene language)
- Columbian a.k.a. Columbia, Nxaʔamxcín
- Okanagan
- Flathead inlcuding Bitterroot, and Pend d'Oreilles.
