The International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) founded in 1954 is a worldwide NGO organisation representing obstetricians and gynecologists in over one hundred territories. Membership is currently composed of 110 professional societies of obstetricians and gynaecologists worldwide. See List of member societies of FIGO
FIGO's work covers many aspects of obstetrics and gynecology such as oncology, STDs/AIDS, perinatal health, education, safe motherhood, the pathology of the breast, medical terminology, social activities on women's health, new technology and ethics.
