Invermere is a community in eastern British Columbia, Canada, near the border of Alberta. With its growing population of almost 4,000 (including Athalmer and Wilmer), it is the hub of the Columbia Valley between Golden, and Cranbrook. Invermere sits on the northwest shore of Windermere Lake (British Columbia) and is a popular summer resort for people from Calgary.

Invermere is located 14 km south of Radium, and about 110 km south of Golden and the Trans-Canada Highway. Invermere is also 31 km north of Fairmont Hot Springs, 60 km north of Canal Flats, 112 km north of Fort Steele, 114 km north of Kimberley, and 120 km north of the hub of Cranbrook and the Crowsnest Highway.

Weather

Invermere is said to be almost "protected" by Mt. Nelson to the west which towers over the community.

Invermere is also a major centre for golf courses.
  • Copper Point Golf Course is the new, and highly awarded golf course about 2 km east of Invermere along Highway 95/93.
  • Eagle Ranch Golf Course is located 3 km northeast of Invermere also along Highway 93/95 and got 4.5 stars/5 stars by Golf Digest.
  • Greywolf Golf Course is located in Panorama Mountain Village about 18 km west of Invermere, is a spectacular course along the Toby Creek canyon.
  • In Radium, the Resort Course and the Springs course are highly popular. *Mountainside, Creekside, and Riverside are located in Fairmont Hot Springs south of Invermere.
