Irkut River (Russian: Иркут) is a river in Buryatia and Irkutsk Oblast in Russia, Angara's left tributary. The length of the river is 488 km. The area of its basin is 15,000 square kilometres. The Irkut River freezes up in late October - mid-November and stays icebound until late April - early May. The city of Irkutsk is located at the mouth of the Irkut River in the Angara.
