Isaias Samakuva

Isaias Samakuva (born 1945 in Kunji, Bié province) is the president of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA). He joined the party in 1974 and was elected its president in 2003 after the death of previous leader Jonas Savimbi. He spent a good deal of time in Europe as an unofficial UNITA ambassador.
