Iseyin

Iseyin is a city located in the Nigerian state of Oyo. It is approximately 100 kilometers north of Ibadan. The city is estimated to have a population of 236,000 (United Nations 2005 estimate). The primary industry of the area is cotton-based textiles. Tobacco is also grown. Iseyin has been the headquarter of Oke-Ogun area. The Oke-Ogun people which comprise of Iseyin, Okeho, Iganna, Ado-Awaye, Eruwa etc of language or dialet known 'Onko' solicited for Oke-Ogun State in the last States creation in Nigeria, with Iseyin as the Capital. They are not granted yet.
