In Islam, God (Arabic: Allāh) is the sole creator and master of the universe. The Qur'an describes God as:

"Say: He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him."[link]

God's Attributes

Muslims consider God to be:

Allah is free from all defects and faults. Only Allah can describe himself and only his messenger (through revelation) can describe Allah. Allah's description is not the same as any other creation since Allah is not like any of his creation. “There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the All-Hearer, All-Seer.” [al-Shoora 42:11] Allah is only described by that which Allah describes himself and that which the Prophet Muhammad described Allah by. Muslims do not add nor do we subtract from the attributes of Allah the all mighty. Muslims believe what Allah and his messenger describe as attributes and reject any other attributes associated to Allah that do not have authentic proof (from the Qur'aan and Authentic Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad).

God's omniscience

The Qur'an describes God as being fully aware of everything that happens in the universe, including private thoughts and feelings:

"It is He who doth take your souls by night, and hath knowledge of all that ye have done by day: by day doth He raise you up again; that a term appointed be fulfilled; In the end unto Him will be your return; then will He show you the truth of all that ye did."([([

Associating partners with God

Associating a partner, spouse, father, son, daughter, mother or other relation(s) to God, literally or metaphorically, partially or completely, is considered blasphemous.

The Qur'an condemns the pre-Islamic Arabs for attributing daughters to Allāh [

Prohibition of Idolatry

Muslims are not iconodules and this extends to all religious aspects (including any iconographic depiction other than in writing) so that it does not lead to idolatry. Instead, they focus on His 99 "attributes" that are stated in the Qur'an, the holy book of the Muslims. Nearly one third of the book is used describing God's attributes and actions. Also, "hadith qudsi" are special recorded sayings of Muhammad to Muslims where he quotes what God has taught him.
