Ismael Urzaiz Aranda (born October 7th 1971, Tudela, Navarre) is a Basque professional footballer who currently plays in the La Liga for Athletic Bilbao.

He began his career at Real Madrid B in 1989. He made his debut in the Primera Division with Albacete Balompie in October 1991 against Athletic Bilbao. He briefly returned to Real Madrid B before embarking on a career that saw him play for Celta Vigo (1992/93), Rayo Vallecano (1993/94), UD Salamanca (1994/95) and RCD Espanyol (1995/96) . In 1996 he joined Athletic Bilbao. In October 1996 he made his debut for Spain. He has so far played over 444 games in the Primera Division, scoring 136 goals. He has been capped 25 times by Spain.
