Jan-Hein Arens (born 23 September 1974 in Vught, the Netherlands) is a Dutch painter/sculptor, who works with bright colors and thick black lines. Arens is influenced by COBRA, Jackson Pollock and the drawings of his four year old daughter.
Technique
Arens' paintings and cast concrete scupltures are usually built up from layers. Oftentimes drawings of body parts, such as eyes or mouths, are superimposed onto a base layer of geometric figures. The work is then augmented with thick black lines, text, and paint thrown directly onto the canvas.History
Arens had shows in different galleries in the Netherlands. He also makes short movies, illustrations and uses different print techniques like linocut, silk screen print and stencilling.External links
