Maikaze was a Kagero-class destroyer of the Imperial Japanese Navy.

On 17 February 1944, during the Allied attack on Truk, Maikaze, Katori, and Akagi Maru were sunk by gunfire from the cruisers USS Minneapolis (CA-36) and USS New Orleans (CA-32) 40 miles (75 km) northwest of Truk ([07°45′N 151°20′E]).
