Jared is a name derived from the Hebrew ירד / יֶרֶד / יָרֶד, pronounced yĕ\yā́-rĕḏ, meaning "descent".
Jared may refer to
- Jared (ancestor of Noah), a fifth generation descendent of Adam and a pre-flood ancestor of Jesus Christ
- "Jared", a paternal descendent of Judah ben-Jacob(Israël), recorded in the Bible at 1 Chronicles 4:18
