Jason Bargwanna is a race car driver born in Sydney, Australia on 26 April 1972. He started his career in 1995, racing in Australian Formula Ford before moving up to Formula Holden in 1997. A member of the Holden "Young Lions" programme in 1997 he surprised all by taking provisional pole in the #97 Commodore at the Bathurst 1000 classic only to damage the car beyond repair in a race day warm up accident. His career further advanced in 1998 with a move full time to the Australian Touring Car Championship, where he stayed for a year until moving to Australian V8 Supercars from 1999 until the present day.
Jason is best known for winning the 2000 Bathurst 1000 with fellow Australian Garth Tander.
Has raced V8's with the Holden Young Lions Team [1997 Car #97], Gary Rogers Valvoline Team [1998 to 2002 in cars #35 and #34] and Larkham Motorsports Orrcon Team [2003 to now Car #10 #20 and a special event #100].
Switching to Ford in 2003 he has not replicated early success with Holden.
Married with two children lives in Victoria. His father Harry Bargwanna, ownes and operates a mechanical repair shop in the Southern Sydney suburb of Engadine. Jason Attended Heathcote High School.
